Senator Winston Williams Golden Nuts recorded a big win last night at Dredgers to book a spot in the CARIBBEAN ALLIANCE INSURANCE ABSCA 10 OVERS COMPETITION semifinals. FDICIC Strictly Business won the toss and elected to bat and posted a challenging score of 65 for 4 from their allotted 10 overs. The bulk of the scoring came from extras 19 while other notable contribution came from Stacey and Tokanda Telemaque 13 and 12 runs respectively. Bowling for Senator Winston Williams Golden Nuts Karen Warner had 2 wickets for 11 runs from 2 overs and Dianne Baxter had 1 wicket for 11 runs from 2 overs.

In reply Senator Winston Williams Golden Nuts made 66 for 8 from 9 overs. Karen Warner top scored with 25 runs hitting 2 sixes and 1 four. Bowling for FDICIC Strictly Business Stacey Telemaque had 2 wickets for 12 runs from 2 overs and Rosemarie Davis had 1 wicket for 4 runs from 2 overs. The win meant Senator Winston Williams Golden Nuts has booked a spot in the semifinals for the first time.

In the second encounter Bryson’s Bullets came up against Heritage Sports Targets. Three of the four semifinals spot already secure a win for either side would mean they would secure that final semifinals spot. Bryson’s Bullets won the toss and elected to bat and like the first innings of the first game extras accounted for most of the score that of 23 runs. Noteworthy contributions came from openers Bernadette Emanuel and Candis Butler 17 and 14 runs respectively. At the end of 10 overs Bryson’s Bullets could only manage to score 61 for 5. The pick of the bowlers for Heritage Sports Targets were Esther George who had 1 wicket for 7 runs from 2 overs and Nolia Elvin 1 wicket for 13 runs from 2 overs who for years has been known for her batting. In their two matches for the group stage Charnalee Lawson and Nolia Elvin has been the top bowlers bagging 3 wickets a piece from their 4 overs for 10 and 18 runs respectively.

In reply Heritage Sports Targets star batswoman Nolia Hodge-Elvin followed up her 65 not out on Sunday with a brilliant 34 not out. She capitalized on any short balls bowled to her as she pulled a huge six east and pulled three other similar deliveries for four. Nolia Hodge-Elvin and Charnalee Lawson 11 not out guided Targets to victory as they scored of 63 for 2 off 8.2 overs. Bowling for Bryson’s Bullets Nicole Gage got 1 wicket for 19 runs from 2 overs. Heritage Sports Targets is the only team in the CARIBBEAN ALLIANCE ABSCA 10 OVERS COMPETITION semifinals that have previously won this competition.

The female semi-finals will be next Tuesday and Wednesday night at Dredgers. In Tuesday’s encounter Heritage Sports Targets will come up against Cool & Smooth Police who knocked out the former back to back champions Quality Boat Works Enforcers. In the other matchup on Wednesday night Antigua Sails Female Flyers will come up against Senator Winston Williams Golden Nuts.
