03/05/2013 09:09

The semi-finals are here it will be a highly anticipated night tonight at Dredgers playing ground when the law girls (Cool & Smooth Police) look to shackle veteran Nolia Hodge-Elvin and the rest of the Heritage Sports Targets team. Targets have been riding on the back of their star player thus far she has accumulated 99 runs so far in two games without been dismissed. She has accounted for 58 percent of her teams scoring and has also been bowling very well bagging 3 wickets for 18 runs in 4 overs. The defending champion has already fell to the strong holds of the law girls as they were restricted with some sensational bowling by Diana Hector and company. But will Nolia Elvin continue to carry her bat as she tries to counter the act the discipline Police bowling attack. Police are filled with confident going into tonight’s semi-finals matchup and they believe that this year is their time. They are coming off a good season last year winning two second division championships. Now they are back in the big league they want to prove that they are one of the elite teams in female cricket and tonight’s match will be their big stage. Some may say that male softball cricket is very competitive but the females are just as competitive. When these girls go out to battle they leave everything on the field. The question however is do the aging Targets after going through two years of championship drought have the power to fight off the law girls. Well we are a few hours away from that matchup so make sure you are there to witness the outcome.

The defending champions Finance & Development Dredgers who one player said on Sunday must still be considered as the favourites to win it again. They will come up against East Siders who with some big signing this year has been making a lot of noise.  Two week ago they defeated Finance & Development Dredgers in the same stage of the ABSCA Pre-Season Tournament and went on to win that competition. But tonight Dredgers are looking for revenge. Dredgers are looking to ensure that they move on to the finals and be eventually crowned as back to back champions. A lot of bragging rights are at stake in this encounter as three of the newly signed players are former Dredgers players. Cortwright “Carty” Mason and Walter “Bini” Carr will be coming out gunning at their former teammates.  Dredgers Swango Mark is in fine form coming off the best 10 overs innings I have ever seen. His last half century came off ten balls. Just imagine sitting in their club house hearing his teammates saying “Swango you can score a century in the fourth over after was around 18 runs. At that point it appeared to be inconceivable. Ricky Buckley and Lorenzo Looby has been bowling brilliantly for Dredgers bagging some three and four wickets respectively at less than five runs per over.

East Siders have been chasing well so far they have chased down 99 and 86 in the preseason and 93 in this competition.  Alfred Jarvis has been great with the ball so far taking 5 wickets for 22 run in 4 overs. We have had an excellent tournament so far and the semi-finals stage promise to be even better. It’s going to be a pandemonium at Dredgers tonight two highly competitive game.  Come watch the stars of the game Anthony “Swango” Mark, Alphonso Jarvis, Lorenzo Looby, Rickey Buckley, Mervin “Tsunami” Higgins, Cartwright “Carty” Mason, Kurt “Pan man” Douglas, Walter “Bini” Carr, Diana Hector, Lisa Marcellin, Nolia Hodge-Elvin, Esther George and Brontella Isaac in action tonight. The place to be is Dredgers ground come out in your numbers and enjoy the semi-finals of the CARIBBEAN ALLIANCE INSURANCE ABSCA 10 OVERS COMPETITION.
